Alagappa University is based out of Karaikudi in the state of Tamil Nadu - only two hours away from Tiruchirappalli and Madurai Airports. The university, founded by Dr. R M Alagappa Chettiar is spread across 440 acres of lush green lands with 39 Departments, 2 Constituent Colleges and 9 Centres.

Admission Procedure

To get admission into the Alagappa University for Distance Education MBA, the students can either approach the university directly or can get in touch through the Study Centres of Alagappa University. You can find the list of valid Study Centres on the university website i.e www.alagappauniversity.ac.in.

If you enroll for direct admission into the university, you will be given the Course Materials, either in person or via email. And then you would have to take the Contact Classes held in the city of Karaikudi.

If you enroll through any of the Study Centres, you’ll get the Course Materials via the Study Centres. And then you would have to take the Contact Classes organised at these Study Centres itself.

Requisites for direct admission into the University

You would be required to carry the following documents along with the application:

    • Original qualification as Diploma/HSC Certificate or University Degree with one copy attested by a Gazetted Officer (Your original certificates would be immediately returned to you after verification).

    • A Student Index Card with signature and a stamp-size photograph.

    • Demand Draft (DD) of the total course fee in favour of Director, DDE, Alagappa University, to be payable at the banks mentioned below in Karaikudi.

    • Students do not need to submit any Transfer Certificate for admission. However, you might get a ‘Course Completion Certificate’ if you apply for the same.

Requisites for admissions via Study Centres

You should submit your application to the Study Centres along with the following documents:

    • Original qualification as Diploma/HSC Certificate or University Degree with one copy attested by a Gazetted Officer (Your original certificates would be immediately returned to you after verification).

    • A Student Index Card with signature and a stamp-size photograph.

    • You are required to submit two Demand Drafts (DD) for Course Fee - one towards the Director, DDE, Alagappa University in Karaikudi as the University Share, the other towards the Learning Centre via which you seek admission.


If you enroll in the Karaikudi Centre, you also enjoy the facility of Cash Payment at the DDE campus.

Send-in the filled-in application and the above mentioned Demand Drafts to your selected Study Centre. Please note, students must not make any cash payments for fees to the Study Centres in any case.
