Distance MBA at KSOU

The School of Commerce and Management offers an MBA program at the master’s level at KSOU.

Duration

The course in general is for 2 years compromising of four semesters. However, one is given the liberty to complete the degree within four years from the date of admission.

Eligibility

One with a Bachelor’s degree is eligible to get admission into the MBA programme at KSOU, provided has scored a minimum of 50% marks. There is a relaxation of 5% for SC/ST candidates i.e. they should have scored at least 45% marks in Bachelor’s degree.

However, one with less that 50% marks can also enrol for MBA degree if he/she has an experience of 3 years as on the date of online application from the date of completion of the degree.

Admission Procedure

  • Selection for admission is completely based on the marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test conducted by the University.
  • One needs to apply online for the CET by paying a fee of Rs.1000 only through the online mode of payment.
  • Fees once paid for the exam will not be refunded to any one.
  • Students should carefully fill out the form and select the examination center for MBA CET.
  • The result of CET will be announced on the official website of the university.
  • The shortlisted candidates will be informed through emails or bulk messages.
  • Selected candidates will have to submit documents as required and mentioned by the University to complete the admission procedure.
  • After the verification of the documents, learner needs to pay the fees in any state bank of India branch using the University challan, by downloading the same from the official website of KSOU.

About The Common Entrance Test (CET)

The Common Entrance Test, conducted by the Karnataka Open State University is to select students on the basis of merit for the MBA programme.

This test helps the university to judge the General Aptitude and decision making power of the interested candidates.

It compromises of four sections of equal marks. These are English, Mathematics, Reasoning and General Awareness. The paper is of 100 marks to be solved within 2 hours time, The University will provide OMR sheet to the candidates in which they will be required to fill the correct option all the questions which will be in the form of multiple choice questions.

A student should fill in the centre for CET exam carefully in the online application as no further changes would be entertained by the university. The student will have to download the admit card from the official website of the university without which entry would be prohibited.

Syllabus and Exam

The University provides specialisation in Finance, Marketing and Human resource management. The medium of instruction is only English but a learner can write the exam in any of the two languages, i.e. English and Kannada.

There are 3 common papers and a project Report of 100 marks followed by Viva of 50 marks, is compulsory for all the students in this semester apart from the 3 elective papers to be studied.

Fees Structure

The total fee for KSOU MBA program is INR 50700/-, we have mentioned the detailed fee structure of the KSOU distance MBA program as below.
